Always accepting new patients!
What’s the most stressful part your dental visit? For many of us, it is worry over whether we are going to feel any pain. Though we take care to make your experience smooth and comfortable, the sting and delay in the numbing effect of anesthetic can amp up anxiety.
For this reason, we have incorporated Onset into our daily routine with dental anesthetic. We buffer anesthetic prior to injection, raising the ph level from 3.7 to 7.4, which is the same as the human body. The problem with local anesthetic is that the pH doesn’t match your body’s natural atmosphere. As we wait for the anesthetic to take effect, your body is neutralizing the anesthetic, buffering it until it reaches a useable pH. This helps take away the sting and burn during the injection and allows the anesthetic to take effect much sooner.
Onset produces consistent, predictable results. Our patients often tell us that they don’t feel a thing when the anesthetic is administered! We love seeing the changes that Onset has made in our practice since 2012. Our patients are more comfortable and confident. Our team is more relaxed and organized. Most importantly, the care we give to you is better. Come and experience it for yourself!
Used for faster placement of tooth-colored fillings on posterior teeth, SonicFill’s composite incorporates a highly-filled proprietary resin with special modifiers that react to sonic energy. As sonic energy is applied through the handpiece, the modifier causes the viscosity to drop, increasing the flowability of the composite. SonicFill enables quick placement and precise adaptation to the cavity walls. When the sonic energy is stopped, the composite returns to a more viscous, non-slumping state that is perfect for contouring to your natural tooth shape.
At our office, we have progressed from traditional film x-rays to digital x-rays. This allows us to minimize your total radiation exposure while providing a complete and thorough diagnosis. We have our equipment checked and calibrated annually, and we consistently exceed the standards set by the state of Ohio for radiation safety.
In order for us to diagnose cavities easier and with more accuracy, we use intra-oral camera photography. This enables us to see your teeth and oral cavity in greater magnification and detail. We have a fluorescent light on the camera which reflects cavity-affected tooth structure differently than healthy tooth structure. This is a big advantage in treatment planning for our patients.
Our dentists wear specialized loupes and light to enhance the visual field during treatment.
Hygienists use this tool to help clean teeth with ultrasonic vibration. The high-frequency sound waves help to vibrate tartar and stain off the teeth, removing the build-up above and below the gumline. The ultrasonic vibrations also help destroy pathogens which are often implicated in periodontal disease.
Prophy Jet is an air polishing prophylaxis (cleaning) system which uses air, water, and either sodium bicarbonate (ProphyJet®) or non-sodium (JET Fresh®) powder as a slurry to remove the extrinsic stain, dental plaque, and soft debris. This enhances the aesthetic of the tooth while simultaneously polishing tooth surfaces.
