Always accepting new patients!
Sealants are used to prevent decay in the grooves and pits of your posterior teeth (molars). Dr. Kleckner is dedicated to shielding the teeth of our youngest patients as effectively as possible. We most often administer sealants to children when their 6-year and 12-year molars are fully erupted. It can also be of benefit to older children and adults to help prevent decay in deeply grooved or pitted teeth. The sealants, initially a liquid, are fully set and cured by the time you leave the office.
You may brush, floss, and eat normally right away on the sealed teeth; no special treatment is necessary. You may feel the sealants are “big" when you bite down or chew food, which is a sensation that normally resolves within a few days. If this is not the case, or if you notice any pain in the sealed teeth, please call the office to schedule an adjustment. Sealants are the perfect tool for cavity prevention, which is our top priority. Contact us today to schedule your sealant treatment.
