Dr. Joanna Kleckner

Dr. Joanna Kleckner has lived in northeast Ohio her whole life. After graduating from Cloverleaf High School, she pursued her bachelor’s degree at Case Western Reserve University in Chemistry and went on to graduate from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in 2003 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After practicing for five years with group practices in Ravenna and Jackson Twp., Ohio, she opened her own practice in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in September 2008.

Dr. Kleckner’s goal is to bring all of her patients into optimal oral health and ensure that they receive the best quality dental care. She values the relationships she develops with her patients, through trust and genuine concern.  She takes time with each of her patients to explain their individual dental needs and any recommended procedures and treatments. Because she cares about her patients’ overall health and quality of life, not just their oral health, she strives to help patients understand the oral-systemic connection, which focuses on the strong mouth-body connection. Dr. Kleckner also believes that having a functionally healthy smile is part of that optimal oral health; and therefore function, not just aesthetics, is of the utmost importance. If the teeth and Temporomandibular Joints (TMJ) are not in harmony, it can lead to pain, abnormal wear and tear on the teeth, and compromise the longevity and health of one’s mouth and quality of life. “Form follows function," is one of Dr. Kleckner’s favorite sayings. Dr. Kleckner believes that a healthy, confident smile is one’s best asset. When a person has a confident smile, it leads to greater achievement in many facets of life.  Since optimal oral health contributes to optimal overall health, it’s a win-win for patients!  “When the functional and aesthetic components of one’s smile are in harmony, it’s beautiful," she says.

Dr. Kleckner values education and continually strives to stay up-to-date with current technologies, techniques, and procedures to provide the best comprehensive care for her patients. She is a member of the Akron Dental Society, Ohio Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is also a graduate of the Dawson Academy, extensive post-graduate training in occlusion and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) function and disorders. In addition to local Study Club meetings, she attends regional and national lectures and hands-on training seminars to maintain top clinical skills. Dr. Kleckner routinely completes at least 100 hours of continuing education every two years, far surpassing the Ohio State Dental Board’s requirement of 40 hours. She also ensures that she and her whole team are OSHA, HIPAA, and CPR certified annually. Dr. Kleckner has been selected by her peers to be in the Top Dentists, Akron list every year since 2012.

Like everyone else, Dr. Kleckner wears many hats in life, including, but not limited to, wife and mother. She treasures her time with her husband and three children, who all keep her very busy. She also enjoys reading, walking, gardening, baking, and cooking. As a self-proclaimed “cookbook junkie," her collection of new recipes is always growing and she is always looking for opportunities to try new dishes out on her friends and family.  In the warmer months, she enjoys family walks and bike rides around town and in the beautiful Metroparks, as well as picnics at Blossom with the Cleveland Orchestra.  In the winter, she bundles up to hit the ski slopes and sledding hills with her family.

Dr. Thomas Dakermanji

Dr. Thomas Dakermanji grew up in Maryland before moving to Ohio. He acquired his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, after which he studied at Case Western Reserve University, School of Dental Medicine to achieve his DMD degree in 2015. He completed his dental residency at Summa Health System Center for Dental Health in May 2016 and joined Dr. Kleckner’s practice as an associate dentist in August 2016.

His philosophy is not focused simply on optimal oral health for all patients, but also on furthering his patients’ dental knowledge so they can share it with those close to them as well. He feels it is of the utmost importance that people feel in control of their health in all aspects and seeks to provide assistance to any who feel it is out of reach. This brought him to seek out Dr. Kleckner, as her reputation for comprehensive care aligns with his vision for ideal dentistry.

Dr. Dakermanji has been trained in many of the newest techniques and technologies, though he is also conservative on those he recommends for treatment. Only when a new technology has proven to be effective, durable, and as reliable as possible does he employ it for his patients. He is a member of the Akron Dental Society, Ohio Dental Association, and American Dental Association. He participates in continuing education courses to further refine and expand his knowledge, skill set, and techniques. He is fascinated by all aspects of dentistry but harbors a particular interest in the areas of fixed prosthetics, and head and neck muscle and joint pain. He practices with the belief that everything in the body is connected and employs that philosophy in his treatment.

In his free time, Dr. Dakermanji (or “Dr. D") enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Amanda, and their cat, GT.  When Amanda isn’t working on her Ph.D. at Kent State University, they enjoy cycling and exercising together.  He also enjoys everything from air hockey and movies, to rock climbing and reading, though not at the same time. He recently gave up on purchasing cat toys, as GT’s favored toys include Starbucks green stirrers, cardboard boxes, and paper bags. He has also recently taken a keen interest in gardening and cooking and takes pride in devising ways to decrease the sugar content in anything, especially baked goods. “Sugar leads to cavities!" is one saying Dr. D loves to share with anyone who will listen.
